Library branch coming in fall to Eastwood Mall
NILES — Warren-Trumbull County Public Library officials announced Friday that the library system will open a new branch inside the Eastwood Mall, offering books, technology and programs to patrons starting in September.
The location will be in a 2,500-square foot storefront in the JCPenney concourse, according to a news release from the library.
The Eastwood Mall Library will provide access to library materials, internet-enabled computers, printers, Wi-Fi and a variety of programs for children, teens and adults starting Sept. 2. The branch is near the mall’s children’s play area and across from Mercy Health’s St. Joe’s at the Mall.
W-TCPL Executive Director Jim Wilkins said the location in the bustling Eastwood Mall Complex, which features shopping, dining and entertainment, allows the library to serve visitors, shoppers and workers.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to provide library services and support to the people who regularly shop, visit and work there,” Wilkins said.
Joe Bell, director of corporate communications for the Cafaro Company, which operates the mall, said the library branch aligns with the mall’s diverse amenities.
“We wholeheartedly believe that a vibrant local library is vital to any community,” Bell said.
The new branch will include a space for reading and community engagement, with a schedule of events planned for all age groups. W-TCPL operates additional branches in Brookfield, Cortland, Howland, Liberty and Warren, along with mobile and outreach services.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration are scheduled for early September, with events and giveaways planned throughout the month.
