Liberty OKs $24,000 property sale for soccer fields
LIBERTY — The township will soon have a new soccer field, thanks to a sale to a nearby property owner.
Trustees on Monday approved authorizing the sale of two vacant parcels on Churchill Road to Reel Holdings LLC, the owner of neighboring properties, for $24,000.
Reel Holdings is expected to pay all costs, including any needed surveys of the property, which will be used for soccer fields.
Law Director Cherry Poteet said there were four lots between Reel Holdings and the township, and the two being sold are being valued on the county auditor’s website.
“The other two, he is going to lease for 15 years with two five-year renewals,” Poteet said. “He is going to take all of his properties and create a soccer park, basically, with multiple soccer fields and then a walkway around it. The public is going to be allowed to use it.”
Robert Denen, Reel Holdings’s registered agent, said they plan to begin construction on the properties in the next 20 days.
