Woodrow Wilson Hall of Fame names inductees

YOUNGSTOWN — The Woodrow Wilson High School Hall of Fame Dinner will be May 25 at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman and will honor former Wilson graduates for their accomplishments and extraordinary service.

The event will benefit the Woodrow Wilson Legacy Scholarship at Youngstown State University. Tickets cost $50 per person. The deadline for reservations is May 13 by calling 330-744-6954. Visit the website at http://ytownwilsonhalloffame.com.

Woodrow Wilson High School graduated its first class in 1939. It was one of the six public high schools in Youngstown, serving the neighborhoods around its former location at Gibson Street and Indianola Avenue on the South Side. The school closed in 2007 and was razed the following year.

The Wilson Alumni Committee has chosen the following seven inductees into the school Hall of Fame:

• Tom Krispinsky, Class of 1970 — Treasurer for various school districts and a current board member for Trumbull County Educational Service Center. His football officiating career includes various levels of high school, collegiate and bowl games.

• William Christofil, Class of 1973 — Faculty and educational positions consist of teacher, administrator, softball coach for the Youngstown City Schools and Girard High School. He is a member of the nonprofit board 60 Sigma Club, which awards scholarships and charities to students and organizations.

• Rick Muntean, Class of 1974 — General manager of numerous Minor League baseball teams, president of the Pennsylvania Northeastern Branch Hall of Fame, inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. He has conducted several fundraisers in Scranton Pa.

• Fred Woak, Class of 1975, aka “Fast Freddie” — Writer, musician, graphic artist and currently a disc jockey for Y-103 classic rock station and hosts the show “Fast Freddie Rocks Youngstown.” He helps out with motorcycle related charities and is an active member of the Ukrainian community.

• Dr. Harold Robinson, Class of 1988 — Emergency Medicine Attending Physician at Marymount Hospital Cleveland Clinic Foundation and previously served in this capacity within the Cleveland suburbs since graduation from Case Western Reserve University.

• Tony Robinson, Class of 1989 — Ernst & Young’s Americas Tax Talent Leader, he served as a board member of Chicago United and other tax affiliates, serves as co-chairs (with his wife) for Slippery Rock University Fundraising Campaign providing multiple scholarships to the youth.

• Robert Vargo, faculty — Consultant to the entertainment industry, producer / promoter at American Theater League, continues to work with nonprofits, restaurateurs and entertainment venues.
