Watch out for these five road projects this week
The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Mahoning County this week, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation. All scheduled work is weather permitting.
INTERSTATE 680 BRIDGE REPAIRS
I-680 northbound under Walker Mill Road is reduced to one lane for bridge repairs. Walker Mill Road over I-680 will be closed through mid-June. The detour is South Avenue to U.S. Route 224 to state Route 170 to North Lima Road.
I-680 NOISE WALL INSTALLATION
I-680 northbound has various lane restrictions from north of U.S. Route 224 to state Route 170. The estimated completion is September.
U.S. ROUTE 224 BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
U.S. Route 224 over I-76 / Ohio Turnpike in Canfield is reduced to one lane in each direction through fall 2026 for a bridge replacement.
STATE ROUTES 14 AND 165 RESURFACING
This work will affect Goshen, Green and Smith townships along with Beloit.
Beginning today, the following routes will have lane restrictions for resurfacing: They are state Route 14, between the Portage County line and Columbiana County line; state Route 165 from the northern Beloit corporation limit to state Route 14. Completion is estimated for late October.
STATE ROUTE 170 PAVEMENT RECONSTRUCTION
This work will affect New Middletown and Springfield Township.
State Route 170 southbound is closed between state Route 630 / Calla Road and Woodland Drive through late October. The detour is state Route 617 to state Route 165 to state Route 626 to state Route 7 to U.S. Route 224 to state Route 170. The estimated completion is set for late October.
