WHAT: Commissioners regular meeting Wednesday

Commissioners:
● Created a fund for the Trumbull County Auditor’s Office that requires for each vendor license fee issued by the auditor, $25 is to be remitted to the Ohio Treasurer of State. The amount will be credited to the Organized Crime Commission Fund.
● Proclaimed May as Mental Health Awareness Month in Trumbull County.
● Approved the 2026-27 grant application for Targeted Community Alternative to Prison, also known as TCAP, in the amount of $1,227,333, to be paid in eight equal installments of $153,416. The grant is designed to reduce the number of felony offenders sentenced to prison.
● Amended an April 9 decision to increase the amount needed to purchase a Trumbull County Emergency Management Agency Mobile Command Post Vehicle from $617,045 to $619,181, to allow the vehicle to be delivered to the county and to provide eight hours of in-service training. The vehicle is being paid for with American Rescue Plan funds.
● Authorized the commissioners’ clerk to advertise for sealed bids for the Housel Craft Road reclamation project, including the full depth reclamation of Housel Craft Road in Farmington Township, between Stroup Hickox and Hoffman Norton roads. It is being partially funded with ARP money.
● Authorized the commissioners’ clerk to advertise for sealed bids for the Mesopotamia Township 2025 road program. It includes improvements to five township roads and is being partially funded with ARP funds.
● Approved the extension of the 2025-26 Traffic Signal Maintenance Contract with Main Lite Electric Co. Inc. for $51,600 beginning July 7, 2025, and ending July 6, 2026.
● Approved a letter of support for Girard’s application to the Appalachian Regional Commission for 2026. The project will allow for Combined Sewer Overflow Station Improvements.
● Designated this week as Economic Development Week in Trumbull County.
● Authorized the Trumbull County Planning Commission to submit the 2025 Community Development Block Grant application in the amount of $642,000.
● Agreed to prepare the 2025 CDBG Neighborhood Revitalization Grant application on behalf of Girard, a wide low- and moderate-income benefit area, in the amount of $750,000.
● Authorized the Planning Commission to submit the 2025 CDBG Critical Infrastructure Grant application for the Frederick Street storm drainage infrastructure improvements project in Liberty for $266,270.
● Authorized an advertisement today announcing the 2025 CDBG second public hearing at 6 p.m. May 22, at the Liberty Administration Building, 1315 Churchill Hubbard Road.
● Authorized Hernandez to sign all documents related to the Appalachian Regional Commission Grant Application for the Crain Drive sanitary sewer improvement project, at an estimated cost of $3,435,943.
● Approved hiring GDK Doors of Youngstown for the replacement of the inmate entrance / exit door at the Trumbull County Courthouse in the amount of $7,785.75.
● Authorized the repair of the Trumbull County jail chiller control board by Gardiner in Solon, in the amount of $18,892.
● Proclaimed this week as Police Week and today as Peace Officers Memorial Day in Trumbull County.
