WHAT: April trustees meeting

Trustees:
• Postponed signing for 2026 supply rates from Progressive Energy.
• Heard from the Jackson Historical Society a request for extending the driveway at the Covenanter Cemetery.
• Reposted to the bid for the year long “roundabout” project that includes a $1.2 million state grant and $2.5 million in additional grants thus far.
• Approved a Full Service Network update from the prosecutor’s office and agreed on a five-year contract with minor addendums. New pricing will take effect because of the additional analog landline. The cost will be $285 per month plus $25 for the additional line.
• Approved the 2025 renewal of all-inclusive insurance with OTARMA for $59,872 and no dividend refund. Last year’s premium was $51,855 and a $3,801 payback to the township.
• Approved a contract with the Solid Waste Management District at $4,500.
• Approved sending four firefighters / EMTs to Fire Officer 1 Training at Choffin Career Center.
• Approved an EMS billing change to LifeForce Billing of Ravenna.
• Allowed the fire chief use his discretion to adjust and schedule hours as he sees fit.
• Approved the purchase of two sets of complete turnout gear for the fire department at $9,500 to replace gear that is expiring at the end of 2025.
• Requested repair estimates for Engine 67 for diagnostics and repair from Cerni Motors.
• Approved police Sgt. David Shively to attend Taser Instruction training at a cost of $895.
• Approved a 25% ($2,810) matching grant for Motorola portable radios that cost $11,239.
• Approved for an estimate for the upfit to Unit 107 (2020 Chevy Tahoe) from Hall Public Safety for a prisoner transport seat at $1,941, an upfit for Unit 602 (2023 Chevy Tahoe)for front and rear cages at $3,085 and an upfit for Unit 600 (2025 Chevy Tahoe) at $17,011.
• Approved FMLA leave (maternity leave) for police Sgt. David Shively.
• Approved a $35 fee for a permit for demolition.
• Approved the declaration of an unsafe structure and 30-day notification of demolition to the owner of 9687 Gladstone. Three bids will be opened in May.
