Bishop celebrating Mass to pray for papal conclave
YOUNGSTOWN — Bishop David J. Bonnar of the Diocese of Youngstown will celebrate Mass at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday at St. Columba Cathedral to pray for the inspiration of the Holy Spirit for the Cardinal electors as they prepare to enter the conclave.
The conclave to elect a new pope for the world’s 1.4 billion Catholics begins Wednesday in Rome. The nine days of official mourning for the Holy Father Pope Francis ended Sunday.
All are welcome to attend Mass.
Following the Mass, the Eucharist will be exposed, and the Cathedral will be open for prayer and adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament until 6:30 p.m., at which time Bonnar will lead Benediction.
The Mass and adoration will be live-streamed on https://catholicecho.org/live.
