Man suffers gunshot wound early Saturday

YOUNGSTOWN — A man was shot in the arm early Saturday in the area of South Schenley Avenue and Austin Street on the West Side and was in stable condition later at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Police were called to the area at 12:28 a.m. for gunfire. When they arrived, officers were flagged down for a male shot in the arm, according to a Youngstown police report.
An officer applied a tourniquet to the man’s arm until ambulance personnel arrived. Ambulance personnel took the male to the hospital for further treatment. No other information on how the shooting occurred was provided in the report.
