YOUNGSTOWN — Police said prosecutors have been consulted and charges are pending in last week’s shooting death of a 3-year-old boy in a Pointview Avenue home on the city’s South Side.

Keilub Paul was shot about 5 p.m. April 14 and later died at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

On Wednesday, Youngstown detectives and patrol officers were inside a home and shed next to the home on Pointview Avenue where the boy was shot and served a search warrant, police said last week.

Pointview Avenue is two blocks north of Midlothian Boulevard, east of Interstate 680.

Two men in the home were handcuffed and placed in a cruiser while police searched the home. Lt. Mohammad Awad of the Detective Bureau said investigators were looking for evidence related to the boy’s death.
