Niles man arrested on drug paraphernalia charge in Liberty
LIBERTY — A Niles man pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Tuesday after being arrested by Liberty police on a drug-related charge.
Christopher Hall, 61, was charged with drug paraphernalia, with the potential for two counts of possession to be added upon positive test results.
According to the police report, an officer was on patrol around Tibbetts-Wick Road when he noticed a black GMC with a loud and faulty exhaust failing to use a turn signal while turning right.
Upon making contact with Hall, he explained to the officer that he didn’t have anything illegal, adding that he only had a pocket knife on his person when the officer said he would be conducting a pat-down.
As he patted Hall down for weapons, he found a small metal cylinder-like object with an unknown white residue inside. Hall declined being checked further, which led to the officer placing him under arrest for drug paraphernalia.
A further search of Hall revealed a folded piece of paper in the form of a bindle containing a powder and a bag containing a crystal-like substance affiliated with methamphetamine, which Hall confirmed it to be.
Hall is set to appear back in court for pretrial March 26, court records show.
