Police find paraphernalia in Liberty warrant arrest
LIBERTY — Many drug-related items were in plain sight as officers arrested a Youngstown man on an active warrant in a motel.
Bennie Poole, 24, was arrested by Liberty police on an active full extradition warrant through Adult Parole Authority on Saturday afternoon on an aggravated robbery charge from 2019.
According to a police report, officers were told Poole was at a Motel 6 in the township. Employees confirmed they saw Poole earlier in the day, and surveillance footage showed him entering and leaving a room multiple times from 11 a.m. until their arrival.
Officers eventually found Poole with a small child and placed the man under arrest.
They returned the child to the room Poole was coming in and out of and requested it be searched due to Poole’s history of carrying firearms and drug paraphernalia found on him during a search.
The report states officers immediately noticed a burned glass smoking pipe in the bathroom sink, as well as burned aluminum foil, red cut straws with residue on them and a plastic bag on a stand.
