YOUNGSTOWN — No one was home when a fire began Tuesday morning at a brick home on Tod Lane near Logan Avenue on the North Side. Firefighters say it appeared that work was being done on the structure.
Battalion Chief Tim Frease of the Youngstown Fire Department said the fire department’s investigator was at the scene to investigate the cause, but it will be difficult to tell because the entire structure was destroyed, including some of the brick walls.
When firefighters arrived just after 7 a.m. Tuesday, the home was “fully involved” in fire, Frease said.
According to the Mahoning County Auditor’s Office, it was a “two-family dwelling” built in 1923 with nearly 4,000-square feet of living space last appraised at $6,150.
