NILES — The Eastwood Mall is launching its “Delivering Cheer” holiday campaign Saturday with a family-oriented event noon to 3 p.m. that includes the arrival of Santa Claus.

Other activities include the start of the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign, a performance of The Nutcracker by Ballet Western Reserve and local school choirs singing holiday music. The event also will have a performance by Castle on a Cloud Entertainment that ends with Santa’s arrival, after his elves track him down on his Caribbean vacation.

The event also marks the opening of an indoor skating rink near the children’s play area that will be open through the holiday season.

And outside, at the northeast mall entrance near DentalWorks and Tuxedo Junction, there will be free carriage rides noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday by Misty Lane Performance Horses.
