YOUNGSTOWN -- The Mahoning Coroner's Office identifies the man shot to death on Montclair Avenue on the South Side Nov. 8 as Antwan Davenport, 37.
Police were called to the area for a man having been shot. When they arrived, officers and ambulance personnel began life-saving measures, but Davenport died, according to Youngstown police.
The coroner's office was notified of his death at 2:51 a.m., according to a coroner's office press release. The coroner's office responded to a home on Montclair regarding a shooting victim.
The killing remains under investigation by the coroner's office and Youngstown Police Department, the coroner's press release states. It was the 19th homicide of the year if two officer-involved killings are not counted. The city had 22 homicides in 2023.
