Shooting reported on expressway
YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Police Department was investigating a shooting Friday afternoon on the Himrod Avenue Expressway where it meets Interstate 680 south of downtown.
A man was wounded in a shooting about 1:40 p.m. He was traveling in a car traveling westbound on the expressway, police said.
No further information was available on Friday.
On Oct. 19, three people suffered gunshot wounds, and a car flipped over onto its hood on the Madison Avenue Expressway just west of Belmont Avenue. Officers were dispatched to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital at 5:47 p.m. for multiple shooting victims being transported there.
