WHAT: Trumbull Career and Technical Center board meeting Thursday
The board:
• Entered into an agreement with GPD at $340,000 for professional services for the industrial technology and STEAM building addition. Superintendent Jason Gray said the contract is covered by $2.5 million in grants the district received for the project.
• Announced a dedication will be 11 a.m. Thursday for the new drone and aviation room that was remodeled from a previous classroom for the new program.
• Administered the oath of office to Justin Sly as the new board member from Bloomfield-Mespo schools, replacing Dave Peterson, who was hired as a new fire safety instructor at the center.
• Approved Heather Howard being moved to 10-month front office employee effective Nov. 1 at $37,900.
• Entered into an agreement with Mercy Health Physicians Youngstown LLC for providing medical care services to students at $15,000 per month. The physicians will work with the center’s two nurses.
• Approved the robotics club trip Jan. 23-25 to Waterpark Rampage Vex Robotics competition at Kalahari Resort in Sandusky.
• Accepted donation of a 2003 GMC Sierra pickup from Lee Hoffman for the auto collision and auto service programs.
• Entered into an agreement with You Belong, which provides a staff member to work at the center 12 hours per week for four weeks providing assistance with job skills for those with disabilities.
• Will host a trunk or treat 5:30 p.m. Oct. 24 in the school parking lot. A schoolwide advisory committee meeting was set at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
