Music meshes with art at weekly event at Butler Institute
Members of the Youngstown State University Percussion Ensemble perform traditional Christian hymns Wednesday at Music at Noon at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown.
In collaboration with YSU’s Dana School of Music, performances are held every Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. in Beecher Court during the academic year. YSU students, faculty and guest artists take the stage to perform a selection of music.
The university and art museum encourages attendance at these weekly recitals during your lunch break.
Some performances are held in Butler North (the church next door) and will be noted on the schedule. Visitors attending the concerts in Butler North can use the entrance on Spring Street for easy access.
Next Wednesday’s performance is scheduled to accent piano studio works.
