Mahoning jury indicts woman on grand theft
YOUNGSTOWN — Ciara C. Tillison, 32, of Simon Lane in Kent, was indicted on burglary and 18 counts of grand theft when the property is a firearm or dangerous ordnance in a Nov. 17, 2022, incident on Youngstown Pittsburgh Road in Springfield Township.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Struthers Municipal Court, Tillison was part of a group connected to a break-in at the home in which 21 firearms were removed from a safe in the home.
The complaint states that Tillison told an officer with the Springfield Township Police Department that she and two males were involved, and Tillison obtained the code for the safe from another person.
She said one of the men broke the window to the home, and the other man entered the home and stole the guns. The male who broke into the home later gave the guns to two other males, according to the criminal complaint.
Tillison was arrested in the case in July and was bound over to a Mahoning County grand jury from Struthers Municipal Court Aug. 12.
