Boardman man indicted on strangulation
YOUNGSTOWN — Larnell Hall, 40, of Boardman, has been indicted on two counts of felony strangulation and one count of felony domestic violence in a June 26 incident in which he is accused of strangling a woman multiple times at Hall’s home.
If convicted, he could get more than 10 years in prison. He is in the Mahoning County jail.
A Boardman police report states that the woman left the home after Hall did and headed toward the Boardman Police Department, but saw an Ohio State Highway Patrol vehicle and approached the trooper to tell him what happened.
A Boardman officer interviewed the woman, who said she and Hall argued that day over her watching a child of Hall’s who was visiting. The argument ended, but at about 1:30 p.m., Hall asked her “What’s your issue?” She said she did not have an issue, but Hall yelled at her and grabbed her neck and choked her while she lay in bed. He would strangle her for a couple of seconds and then stop but then repeated this about five times.
She said she begged Hall to stop, “as she was unable to breathe” and tried to get away, but Hall “threw her back on the bed,” she said. An officer documented that the woman had red marks on her neck. Eventually Hall left the home in a car, the woman told police.
Boardman police took possession of Hall at the Lyndhurst Police Department in the Cleveland area June 29 after the Lyndhurst Police Department arrested Hall on a warrant in the strangulation case. Hall was later taken to the Mahoning County jail, where he has been housed since June 29, according to Mahoning County jail records.
