2 suffer gunshot wounds following North Side fight

YOUNGSTOWN — Two people were taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital with serious gunshot injuries, apparently in connection to people fighting in the 2700 block of Robinwood Place on the North Side Sunday evening.

Youngstown police were called to the address at 7:08 p.m. for a “large group of people fighting,” according to a Youngstown police report.

When officers arrived, they found “no one outside. However, several articles of clothing and large pieces of hair weave were observed in the roadway,” the report states.

Officers were advised by the Youngstown dispatch center that two people who were gunshot victims were transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital by private vehicle.

The victims were said to be in critical condition after their arrival at the hospital Sunday, though an attempt to get more information on the condition of the victims Monday afternoon from the Youngstown Police Department was not successful.

The Robinwood Place address is one of the buildings in the Brier Hill Annex apartments run by the Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority. A Youngstown police report states that 13 officers responded to the scene, including a detective and lieutenant.

Starting at $3.23/week.
