Vehicle strikes, kills man, 35, in Boardman
BOARDMAN — A 35-year-old man from Youngstown has been identified by the Ohio State Highway Patrol Canfield Post as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle early Friday afternoon.
The victim, Sean R. Baran, had been walking eastbound on the northern side of East Fairlawn Avenue.
A vehicle driven by a 39-year-old Youngstown man was traveling south on Market Street.
Troopers say Baran walked into the lane of travel on Market Street and was struck by the man’s vehicle.
Baran was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel. The driver stopped and remained at the scene.
Assisting agencies included EMT EMS, Boardman Township Police, Fire, and EMS, as well as the Mahoning County Coroner. The crash remains under investigation.
