Dog saved from fire in Hubbard
\HUBBARD — A dog was rescued by a neighbor from a house fire in the 3500 block of Homewood Avenue on Tuesday morning. The dog was on the front porch when a neighbor noticed it.
The Eagle Joint Fire District responded to a call where heavy smoke was reported from the outside of the home. The Liberty Township Fire Department, Girard Fire Department, Brookfield Fire Department and the Youngstown Air Reserve Station Fire Department also assisted with the call.
Hubbard fire Chief Ron Stanish said no one was injured, but it hasn’t been determined whether the dog suffered any injuries. The house sustained approximately $80,000 to $100,000 in heat, smoke and water damage, Stanish said. The fire is under investigation.
