Credit card misuse lands city resident in prison
WARREN — A Youngstown man was sentenced Wednesday to 17 months in prison and ordered to pay $1,970 restitution after being convicted on felony counts of misuse of credit cards and receiving stolen property, as well as a misdemeanor count of misuse of credit cards.
Joseph P. Shurtleff, 33, of Thalia Avenue, was arrested by Liberty police after a May 2023 investigation.
Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Sean O’Brien ruled Shurtleff is not amenable to probation because he has been rated high-risk to reoffend by the Trumbull County Probation Department. He also had a criminal history that included eight prior jail terms.
