3 injured in weekend Youngstown shootings
YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Police Department reported that people suffered gunshot wounds at three locations over the weekend.
One shooting was reported at 9:09 p.m. Saturday on Woodcrest Avenue on the East Side. When officers arrived, they were advised that the shooting victim was inside the house.
Officers found the man and provided aid until ambulance personnel arrived. He was transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Detectives and crime scene personnel arrived to carry out an investigation. The age of the victim was not provided, nor were any other details regarding the circumstances of the shooting provided, such as the condition of the man.
Another shooting was reported at 6:53 p.m. Saturday on West Myrtle Avenue on the South Side.
Youngstown police reported that they were called to the location for a shooting and located a male victim. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, but his age and condition were not provided, nor any details related to what the victim said happened, his age or how seriously injured he was.
The third shooting was reported at 3:37 p.m. Sunday on Dogwood Lane on the East Side.
A Youngstown police report states that eight police officers responded to Dogwood Lane for a shooting. The shooter left the area before officers arrived, the report states.
Officers spoke to a man who appeared to have been shot in the left side of his face. He was alert and breathing. Ambulance personnel evaluated the man’s injuries, but the man refused medical attention. Officers wrote a report on the shooting, the report noted.
The report did not give the victim’s age, and there was no indication of how serious the man’s injuries were.
