Pair of YSU deans depart

YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State University will be looking for new leaders in two of its colleges.

Provost Jennifer Pintar notified the university on Friday that Kelly Wilkinson, Dean of YSU’s Williamson College of Business Administration, informed the university this week that she will be leaving for a new position at the School of Business and Economics at Indiana University-East. Her last day will be around July 12.

Jeffery Allen, Dean of the Bitonte College of Health and Human Services retired, and Wednesday was his last day.

Pintar said Associate Dean Sara Michaliszyn will assume the role of interim dean.

“Sara has been an integral part of the college community,” Pintar said. “Her extensive experience and leadership skills make her an excellent choice for this position.”

Pintar said Betty Jo Licata, retired dean of WCBA, will return to serve as interim dean. Licata retired from YSU in 2021 after more than 26 years as dean. She will begin as interim dean on July 15.

Pintar said the university will conduct searches for both positions.
