Streetscape in Youngstown has 1,000 volunteers for Saturday

YOUNGSTOWN – Nearly 1,000 people have signed up to participate in Youngstown CityScape’s 27th annual Streetscape Day beautification effort 9 a.m. to noon Saturday

Projects include trimming, planting flowers and shrubs, removing debris and mulching planted areas.

While the event is citywide, the focus areas are Central Square, West and East Federal streets, the John Young Memorial, Mahoning Commons, the B&O Station, the Choffin hillside, city hall, the Williamson staircase, Wick Park, Harrison Commons and Smoky Hollow.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Sunday.
