Mahoning County gets mosquito control grant

YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning County Public Health received a $24,997 grant from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for a mosquito control program.

The grant “is instrumental in our efforts to combat mosquito-borne diseases,” said Ryan Tekac, county public health commissioner.

The funds will be used for trapping initiatives and educational outreach, Tekac said.
