Hubbard Township man arraigned in Friday vehicular homicide case Hubbard Township man arraigned in vehicular homicide case

GIRARD — A Hubbard Township man was arraigned Monday in connection to a traffic crash that killed a man Friday.

Dylan Vrancich, 25, of Bell Avenue, pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular homicide and vehicular manslaughter in Girard Municipal Court via video feed from the Trumbull County jail.

He later posted a $25,000 bond, and is due back in court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing, court records show.

Judge Jeffrey D. Adler issued a no contact order with the victim’s family.

Police responded to the crash just after midnight on Colonial Drive near Biscayne Avenue in Liberty.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling west on Colonial Drive when it failed to navigate a curve, lost control, hit a utility pole and then caught on fire.

Killed in the crash was passenger Nicholas Thompson, 41, of Youngstown.

The patrol said unsafe speed and alcohol consumption were factors that contributed to the crash.

Vranchich was booked into the Trumbull County jail Sunday after he was treated for injuries at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
