The Vindicator to publish new ‘Weekend Edition’

The Vindicator will embark on a new era beginning April 6 with the debut of an expanded “Weekend Edition” that will be delivered to home subscribers and stores Saturday mornings and remain available throughout the weekend.

The “Weekend Edition” of this longstanding Valley newspaper will feature the best of the Saturday and Sunday editions in one package. All of the sales flyers and advertisements from local stores that readers have come to depend on will now be available Saturday, allowing readers to better plan their weekend shopping trips.

Just as before, the award-winning news and sports reporters of The Vindicator will continue to cover weekend news, events and sports, with stories appearing online immediately at www.vindy.com. They also will be shared across the newspaper’s social media platforms and its daily newsletter, which is sent directly to your email, so be sure to follow and subscribe. Weekend stories also will be a part of Monday’s print edition.

This production change will allow The Vindicator to continue covering local news that matters most to readers, said Ted Snyder, general manager of The Vindicator.

“Our role in providing important and vital information to our readers has never been more clear than it is today,” Snyder said. “The communities we serve are counting on our coverage and viewpoints to help make sense of the current events in our communities and our nation as we work toward bringing people back together.”

The weekend newspaper will showcase expanded News, Sports, Business, Opinion and Life sections. The full-color comics section and weekend classified auto, real estate and job listings also will be included.

“People are busier on the weekends now, and giving them an expanded version of The Vindicator on Saturdays allows them to go through the paper — and take advantage of the sales — in a time frame that better fits their schedule,” Snyder said.
