Officer shot on South Side
YOUNGSTOWN — A Youngstown police officer was shot Friday evening on the city’s South Side.
The officer is expected to be OK, according to an anonymous source at the department, who also said a “BOLO (Be on the Lookout) alert has been issued for a white Jeep Compass with Florida tags.
The incident occurred at Ravenwood and Firnley avenues.
Youngstown police detective Lt. Mohammad Awad issued a statement around 8:30 p.m. stating a critical incident occurred, but no further information would be released at this time.
