Altreche indicted in Miss Daisy’s Place murder

YOUNGSTOWN — Jonthony Altreche,19, was indicted Thursday on aggravated murder in the Dec. 10 shooting death of Ty’Rice Logan, 26, who was found near the sidewalk in front of Miss Daisy’s Place on South Avenue in Youngstown.

Altreche is likely to be arraigned in the next couple of weeks in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court. He is also indicted on murder, two gun specifications, illegal possession of a firearm in a liquor permit premises, failure to comply with the order of a police officer, cocaine possession and a specification of forfeiture of money in a drug case.

When Altreche was arraigned earlier this month in Youngstown Municipal Court in the killing, bond was set at $1 million after city Assistant Prosecutor Shaina Rochford told Magistrate Constant Prassinos a reason for the high bond was because of Altreche “being on video shooting the victim.”

According to a Youngstown police news release, officers with its Neighborhood Response Unit arrested Altreche Feb. 3 on the South Side after seeing him in a black BMW committing a traffic violation on or near Wilson Avenue.

While attempting to make the traffic stop on the vehicle, a short pursuit took place and ended in a crash without injuries. During the pursuit, Altreche’s vehicle collided with another automobile, according to a city police report.

According to Youngstown Municipal Court records, Altreche was charged with fleeing and eluding and felony drug possession for a Feb. 3 incident, the day he was arrested.

He was charged in Logan’s murder Dec. 15.
