YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown State University received $220,000 from the State Controlling Board to purchase two parcels near the campus for additional parking.
The board approved the purchase Monday of half an acre -- 337 and 359 Arlington St., which contains two boarding houses -- near a YSU parking lot to add 170 parking spaces on the west end of campus.
It will help replace spots lost when YSU demolished a parking deck on Fifth Avenue.
YSU is not contributing any money toward the property acquisition.
