Ohev Beth Sholom leader joins national board

YOUNGSTOWN — The National Association for Temple Administration announced the appointment of two individuals to its board of directors during the annual conference earlier this month in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The newly appointed board members, Holly Krakow, executive director of Makom Solel Lakeside in Highland Park, Illinois, and Sarah Wilschek, executive director of Congregation Ohev Beth Sholom in Youngstown, bring extensive experience and expertise to NATA, aligning with the organization’s mission of ensuring synagogues are led with excellence by dedicated individuals providing strong, foundational and administrative leadership.

Krakow and Wilschek join NATA as it continues to enrich professional development, serve as the voice of synagogue management and advance the profession, a news release from the organization states.

The organization provides resources such as webinars, conferences, mentorship, and networking tools to support its members.

Wilschek said “NATA is an incredible organization — connecting the religious, Jewish world’s administrative leadership through learning, professional development and networking. It is an honor to be identified as a leader in the field, and help focus on the future of synagogue administration.”

Wilschek has served as executive director of Congregation Ohev Beth Sholom (formerly Congregation Rodef Sholom) since April 2019. During her tenure, she has navigated multiple clergy transitions, a successful merger between Congregation Rodef Sholom and Ohev Tzedek-Shaarei Torah, modernized the infrastructure and amplified the community presence of the synagogue.

Wilschek has been an active member of NATA since June 2019, and serves on multiple committees, including communication, membership and education. Wilschek and Krawkow served as education co-chairs for the 2022 NATA Conference in Clearwater, Florida.
