Tractor-trailer accident closes Route 62 in Canfield

GREEN TOWNSHIP — A tractor-trailer overturned Wednesday morning, closing U.S. Route 62 for about three hours.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the crash near White House Fruit Farm at 6:42 a.m., according to OSHP dispatch.

A dispatcher said the vehicle, owned by R-K Campf Transport of Salem, was traveling westbound on Route 62 when it went off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole.

The vehicle was hauling steel coils, which were spilled across the road. The driver, Jonathan Stockman, 34, of Youngstown, was taken to St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital for minor injuries, and the vehicle was towed and its load cleaned up at the company’s expense. Stockman was cited for failure to control. The patrol said the road reopened at 9:25 a.m.
