WHAT: Township trustees meeting Tuesday

PRESENT: Dave Tomaino, Wendy DiBernardi and Edward Villone

Trustees:

• Permitted interim fire Chief Kenneth Oles to get estimates on gutter guards to be installed on the fire department building's rear and front, due to excessive snow and ice buildup. Oles said it has been an ongoing issue that has been ignored previously.

• Approved Oles' request to get a door lock installed on the locker room. He explained that he felt it was a good idea because they have two women currenly serving and a third potentially joining. He also said he plans to get it through Austintown Lock and Key and will have a price later.

• Approved Oles' request to order several sets of turnout gear to replace the ones that will be out of date at the end of next year. Costing $10,500 with helmets, Oles said, if the gear is ordered prior to Dec. 31, Fire Force will give them this year's pricing, which will allow them to avoid the incoming price increase Jan. 1. The cost will go onto next year's budget.

• Approved police Chief Charles Van Dyke's request to rehire David Beavers as a part-time officer.

• Approved Van Dyke's request to offer Yony Villar Salcedo and Nickolas Jones provisional employment pending their graduation of Youngstown State University's police academy and license exam through the state.

• Approved Road & Cemetery Supervisor David Dunn Sr.'s request to remove several large branches on School Street. It will cost $600 for the branch removal.

• Set a reminder that the next meeting will be at town hall at 7 p.m. Nov. 14.
