Stage Left Players starts its 2023-24 season on Saturday with a sequel to one of its productions last year.

“Rex’s Exes” is written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, who also penned “The Red Velvet Cake War,” Stage Left’s 2022-23 season opener.

The Verdeen cousins (once again played by Christine Martin, Tina Duster and Jen Milligan) of Sweetgum, Texas, return for a comedy about a surprise birthday party that turns into a funeral and a not-so-dead husband who has romantic ties to each of the cousins.

“Rex’s Exes” will be staged at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday through Oct. 8 at Trinity Playhouse, 234 E. Lincoln Way, Lisbon. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens and are available online at stageleft players.org.
