WHAT: City council meeting Sept. 18

PRESENT: Bill Williams, Bonnie Viele, Robin Zambrini, Michael Mogg, Cathy Cummings. Jerry Crowe, Michael Kerr and Mayor Ben Kyle

ABSENT: Ryan Hallapy

Council:

• Heard from Kyle the Gotta Go Green grant from the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District is being used for security cameras that police officials have access to so they can keep an eye on illegal dumping, broken glass and any damage done at the recyling center;

• Heard from Kyle bids are being sought for the waterline replacement project on Rebecca and Caroline avenues from Myron Street to Liberty Street in 2024. Paving work also will be done with Ohio Public Works Commission funds being sought;

• Heard from Mogg the Eagle Joint Fire District purchased a $5,000 stair cart from Penn Care to help move people. He said the district is seeking an Assistance to Firefighters grant for a new cot;

• Announced a fire department open house 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 18;

• Set trick or treat for 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31;

• Heard from Kyle the city will receive $34,000 in funding for the senior center, which will be run by SCOPE;

• Requested legislation for creating a backflow / cross connection water administrator at $1,000 per month to be in compliance with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.
