Man indicted, accused of firing at Struthers home

YOUNGSTOWN — Angel A. Chico, 27, of Campbell, was indicted on firearm and other charges. He is accused of firing at a Struthers home.

He faces discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises with two firearm specifications; improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle with two firearm specifications; two counts of felonious assault with two firearm specifications each; domestic violence; and violating a protection order.

He is accused of shooting at the home where his ex-girlfriend was hiding from him July 21. He was arrested near North Canton later that night after fleeing from the scene, where a man was wounded in the leg.

Police said Chico shot at the house after learning his ex-girlfriend was staying there. He was reported to police for driving past the house repeatedly, which would have been a violation of a protection order the ex-girlfriend secured against him after a July 7 incident — in which he is accused of beating her and holding her at gunpoint inside their Wilson Avenue home in Campbell.

Before Struthers police could respond to the Elm Street home where the woman was staying, Chico fired one shot, wounding another man in the leg.
