Mahoning County grand jury releases indictments

YOUNGSTOWN — Johnny Norris, 42, whose address is the Mahoning County jail, has been indicted on charges of kidnapping, two counts of strangulation and one count of domestic violence.

At least one of the charges is related to an incident July 24 in Youngstown involving a woman, according to Youngstown Municipal Court records.

Norris’ case was bound over from municipal court to a Mahoning County grand jury July 31, and he was ordered held in the jail in lieu of $15,000 bond. He also was ordered to have no contact with the woman.

If convicted of the charges, Norris could get more than 20 years in prison. He likely is to be arraigned in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court in the coming weeks.

The following other people also were indicted Thursday:

• Timothy G. Lucas, 52, Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool, vehicular assault and failure to stop after a nonpublic road accident;

• Jodi L. Hoppa, 49, Lanterman’s Road, Austintown, aggravated drug possession, operating a motor vehicle impaired and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia;

• Jabriaele D. Jones, 29, Mahoning County jail, fentanyl-related compound possession, obstructing official business, falsification, possessing drug abuse instruments and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia;

• Clint A. Myers, 40, Wingate Road, Poland, three counts of receiving stolen property and one count of aggravated drug possession;

• Richard A. Lawler, 44, Mahoning County jail, unauthorized use of a vehicle, grand theft of a motor vehicle, theft, burglary, drug possession, misdemeanor theft and failure to stop after an accident;

• Emmanuel Lopez, 34, Mahoning County jail, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle;

• Tyrese A. Pearce, 19, Mahoning County jail, aggravated drug possession with a specification of forfeiture of money in a drug case;

• Alicia C. Pierce, 38, Mahoning County jail, receiving stolen property, cocaine possession, falsification, obstructing official business and resisting arrest;

• Timothy D. Southerland, 63, Wychwood Lane, Boardman, violating a protection order;

• Jabbar D. Spires Jr., 39, South Maryland Avenue, having weapons while not allowed, tampering with evidence, cocaine possession with a firearm specification and specification of forfeiture of money in a drug case and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle;

• Joseph P. Shurtleff Jr., 32, Mahoning County jail, receiving stolen property and misuse of credit cards;

• Richard J. Watkins, 34, Chester Drive, Boardman, theft;

• Kyle D. Taylor, 37, Mahoning County jail, intimidation of an attorney, victim or witness in a criminal case, two counts of harassment with a bodily substance, and one count of criminal damaging or endangering;

• Tavion A. Garrett, 30, Southern Ohio Correctional Facility, Lucasville, two counts of harassment with a bodily substance and one count of possessing criminal tools;

• Sukhvinder Multani, 53, South Avenue, two counts of selling, purchasing, distributing or delivering dangerous drugs and one count of gambling;

vSouth Avenue Gas and Food Mart, also known as Bombay Dream LLC, 2325 South Ave., two counts of selling, purchasing, distributing or delivering dangerous drugs and one count of gambling.
