BOARDMAN -- A car salesman was arrested Tuesday after police allege he stole explicit photos from a woman's phone while waiting on her at a local dealership.
John Litman, of Sharon, Pa., is charged with pandering obscenity, a fifth-degree felony and telephone harassment, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Litman pleaded not guilty on Tuesday at Mahoning County court in Boardman. Judge Joseph Houser released him on $2,500 bond for the misdemeanor and $5,000 for the felony charge, and set a hearing for Sept. 26.
The charges stem from a July 19 incident at Acura of Boardman., a police report states. The woman told Boardman police that while she was purchasing a vehicle there, Litman asked for her phone to set up the Bluetooth / UConnect functions for her.
The report states that while Litman had the phone, he sent sensitive photographs and videos of the woman to his cellphone and then deleted the items from her phone. The images showed the woman wearing lingerie or no clothing.
The woman told police she did not know the files were missing until her boyfriend noticed they were gone later that night, and recovered them from the cloud.
The report said supervisors at the dealership were first made aware of the alleged theft by someone who knows both Litman and the woman.
A sales manager at Acura of Boardman said the dealership has no comment. Litman is not listed on the dealership's staff directory.
