Woman indicted in telecommunications fraud
Same person involved in Boardman pool controversy
YOUNGSTOWN — Taylor A. Moore, 30, of Glenwood Avenue in Boardman, was indicted Thursday on charges of telecommunications fraud, two counts of theft and one count of theft from a person in a protected class.
She is one of the people involved in a dispute with Boardman Township over a pool party at her home.
The charges, however, are unrelated to the pool controversy. They instead relate to incidents from early 2022 in Austintown.
Moore is accused of operating a store selling furniture, prosecutors said. Investigators received a report of Moore putting items on her web site that were from a store in Liberty, taking the money from the buyers but not delivering the items.
Moore is among three people associated with 8383 Glenwood Ave., where a Memorial Day pool event took place that Boardman officials said resulted in parking problems, noise and trash left behind and a zoning violation.
The township and the three people associated with the house have agreed in a court document that use of the home for large party rentals is not permitted under the R-1A Single Family Residential District zoning resolution. The document is associated with a preliminary injunction Boardman Township sought against Moore and the two other people in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court asking a judge to stop future events.
The township asks that Moore, Michelle Firman and Malcolm A. Carter be prohibited from using the property again as a “Luxury Pool Party Event Center.”
CHURCH THEFT
Also indicted Thursday was Gregory A. Pflug, 51, Birch Trace, Austintown on felony grand theft. He is accused of stealing from a fund at Tabernacle Evangelical Church on South Raccoon Road meant for people in need.
A police report states that a senior member of the church reported that Pflug, while serving as a church deacon, made ATM withdrawals totaling more than $39,000 from the Deacon’s Fund, which was for needy church members.

• Raekwon D. Horne, 26, Walter Street, Campbell, fentanyl related compound possession and aggravated drug possession;
• Marvin R. Anthony, 60, Mahoning County jail, failure to comply with the order of a police officer, two counts of receiving stolen property and single counts of obstructing official business, resisting arrest and falsification;
