WHAT: Board of education meeting June 29
PRESENT: Mark Bodo, Tim Gleason, Cheryl Basista, Josh Garris, Sam Caputo, Treasurer Steve Haynie and Superintendent Damon Dohar
The board:
• Agreed to place a levy renewal on the November ballot. The levy is 4.85 mills and if passed, it will bring in $538,168 annually for the district. Haynie said the county auditor determined the owner of a home with $100,000 appraised value will pay $170 per year;
• Approved the resignation of Holly McNees as intervention specialist, effective June 30;
• Approved the resignation of Stephanie Oyster as junior high English language arts teacher, effective June 30;
• Approved the resignation of Ray Budrevich as custodian, effective June 30;
• Approved the resignation of Zachary Rouan as assistant technology coordinator, effective July 17;
• Approved the resignation of Michael Klem as assistant technology coordinator, effective July 1;
• Approved the resignation of Deana Van Horn, effective May 30, 2023;
• Hired Braley Miller as intervention specialist and Jaclyn Senich as an eighth-grade English language arts teacher, on one-year contracts;
• Approved a supplemental contract for Kyle Paden as junior high football assistant coach for the 2023-24 school year;
• Approved a supplemental contract for Joe Kolenick as junior high cross country assistant coach for the 2023-24 school year;
• Approved a supplemental contract for Karla Dooley as junior high volleyball assistant for the 2023-24 school year;
• Approved Vickie Meinke, Shakir Perkins and Jalen Royal-Eiland as substitute custodians for the 2023-24 school year;
• Approved Jessica Becha as a substitute bus driver for the 2023-24 school year;
• Approved new substitute rates for the district to begin on July 1. Under the new rates, classroom aides will earn $105 per day; substitute custodians will earn $14 per hour; substitute custodians with a commercial driver’s license will earn $16 per hour; substitute bus drivers will earn $16 per hour; substitute bus aides will earn $14 per hour; substitute bus aides with a CDL will earn $16 per hour; substitute cafeteria workers will earn $14 per hour; and substitute cafeteria workers with a CDL will earn $16 per hour;
• Approved the building use permit for the Little Rams Football Organization for its practices, effective July 8 to Aug. 29;
• Approved the building use permit for the Mrs. Brooke Kaschak Car Show Fundraiser for an autism service dog from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 24.
