WHAT: Trustees meeting July 11

PRESENT: William Colletta, Rick Hernandez and Fred Hanley

Trustees:

• Held a meeting presented by Julie Green, director of the Trumbull County Planning Commission, to review the township’s comprehensive community plan with military compatibility element. The township is working with the Youngstown Air Reserve Station on maintaining flight path operations;

• Received a recommendation from the zoning commission that an EV charging station resolution be accepted and forwarded to trustees for final approval. A public hearing is set for 6 p.m. Aug. 1. The language in the proposed zoning resolution for EV charging stations is being reviewed by legal counsel;

• Reported on the Coalburg Lake Dam, saying the zoning department has contacted Hess and Associates, who will be conducting a dam survey study, initially doing survey work. This will help property owners decide on the most feasible options to be in compliance with Ohio Department of Natural Resources;

• Announced an audit of township finances is being done this week;

• Announced a police vehicle is for sale with bids to be opened at 6 p.m. Aug. 1;

• Heard from Hernandez about being aware of suspicious activity and thefts in the township during the day and at night;

• Heard from Coletta that dumping of construction debris, unknown materials and tires on the back of a property have been turned over to Trumbull County Health Department;

• Reported the board of zoning appeals has approved a conditional use permit for solar panels at 1587 Collar Price Road;

• Will be seeking a zoning inspector with those interested asked to apply at the zoning office;

• Heard from Hanley there has been an increase in road signs being stolen in the township;

• Reported the road maintenance building roof has been repaired from storm damage;

• Will request ODOT review the crossover at Hibler and Ruth roads for safety concerns. Officials plan to attend an ODOT meeting on a proposed Interstate 80 and state Route 304 interchange;

• Entered into an agreement with the Ohio Public Works Commission for repaving Hubbard Thomas Road.
