YOUNGSTOWN — Police are investigating after a man was found shot to death Saturday afternoon on the West Side.

A news release from the Youngstown Police Department states police were called just before 4 p.m. to the area of North Evanston and Mahoning avenues for a man, 37, who was shot and lying in the middle of North Evanston. Detectives and the Mahoning County Coroner’s Office processed the scene.

No further information was available, but police said they found six shell casings in the area. Police said they know who the victim is but are not yet releasing his identity.
