•AUSTINTOWN -- The 44th annual Fourth of July parade will step off at noon Tuesday at Highway Tabernacle Church at Kirk and Raccoon roads and end at Austintown Fitch High School.
The Austintown Historical Society will host a flag raising and ecumenical program at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Austin Log Cabin, South Raccoon Road. Guest speaker will be Austintown Schools Superintendent Tim Kelty, who is an Iraq War veteran. The Fitch color guard will conduct a flag-raising, and a member of the band will render taps.
• BOARDMAN -- An Independence Day celebration will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Lariccia Family Community Center at Boardman Park featuring the Salem Quaker Band, followed by a fireworks display.
• CANFIELD -- The annual Firecracker Run will take place Tuesday with race registration starting at 7:30 a.m. at the Canfield Township Hall and the kids race starting at 8:15 a.m. in front of Farmers National Bank. The Firecracker 4-mile run will begin at 8:30 a.m. in front of the Canfield United Methodist Church. The Boardman-based 2k23 will perform at the new gazebo on the Canfield Green, and the parade leaves the fairgrounds on South Broad Street at 10 a.m. A car show behind Farmers National Bank begins at noon. Kids' games and bounce houses will be set up on the North Green at noon.
• STRUTHERS -- The 3-mile parade begins at noon Tuesday at the Fifth Street Plaza, runs north to Sexton Street, turns on Poland Avenue to Smithfield Street and finishes back at the plaza. The Struthers School Foundation 5K and Kids Fun Run will begin at 11 a.m. The race begins at Fifth Street and Rita Drive by Pizza Joe's.
• YOUNGSTOWN -- The second annual "Fireworks & Food Trucks" will take place in Wean Park beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday with fireworks at 10 p.m. The evening will include a lineup of locally owned food trucks, DJ Chip Banks from Loud 102.3 and a fireworks display at dark by Zambelli Fireworks. Free parking will be available in the Covelli Centre parking lot.

• GUSTAVUS -- Homecoming parade begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the township center followed by festivities at the township park. Family-friendly activities are planned, including Tot King and Queen contest (ages 3-5), kiddie tractor pull (ages 3-8) and turtle races (B.Y.O.T.), food, games, a basket raffle, face painting, a bounce house and a dunk tank with Joseph Badger staff members and a cornhole tournament with a cash prize for the winners. Entry fee will be $20 per team. A petting zoo by Zoo-to-Go will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• HOWLAND -- The township's annual 4th of July celebration on Tuesday begins with a 1.5-mile parade at 10 a.m. from the Hunter Woods Plaza on East Market Street to Howland High School. Music and food will be available after the parade. The theme of this year's parade is "Ode to Lady Liberty." The Stars and Stripes 4th of July 5K race will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday at Howland High School. Registration is at 7 a.m.
• NEWTON FALLS -- The July 4 carnival hosted by the Newton Falls Lions Club will continue through Tuesday at the village park. The 77th annual parade will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday starting at First Church of God, 426 W. Broad St., across from Dairy Queen. Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m. at the city park.
• WARREN -- The W.D. Packard Band concert will begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday on the lawn followed by fireworks on the Packard Music Hall property. Guests are asked to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
