YOUNGSTOWN -- The gunshot victim killed over the weekend on the city's West Side is Jason Sitnic of Youngstown, according to the Mahoning County Coroner's Office.

This is the sixth homicide in Youngstown so far this year.

The coroner's office identified Sitnic, 37, of South Avenue, on Monday though police said they knew who he was when they found him Saturday afternoon. Sitnic's name was blacked out by police in the report filed on his death.

Police were called at 3:54 p.m. to North Evanston Avenue, near Mahoning Avenue, for a shooting victim.

Police found Sitnic lying in the middle of the street covered in blood and not breathing, according to a report. Emergency medical technicians who responded to the shooting pronounced Sitnic dead at the scene.

Police said they found six shell casings in the area.

No arrests have been made in the shooting.
