WHAT: Board of Education meeting Monday

The board:
• Approved a bid from Triangle Roofing Inc. of Pittsburgh at $1.32 million for repairing and replacing the high school roof using American Rescue Plan ESSER funds. The district received four bids for the project. Work will be done in the spring and summer. Officials said the roof is nearly 20 years old;
• Named Todd Smith as interim 7-8 dean of students for the remainder of the school year replacing Carmen Nocera, who is retiring June 14. Smith, who most recently was a language arts teacher at the high school, will serve as an interim through June 1. Nocera is on family leave through June 13;
• Approved an agreement with Trumbull County Educational Service Center for $1.36 million for special education programs, related services and personnel to the district. The amount remained the same as the current year;
• Approved Jones Dance Academy to use the high school auditorium on June 1 and 2 for a dance recital;
• Approved a senior class trip to Cedar Point on May 23 and third-grade trip to Akron Zoo on May 25 and OH WOW! The Roger and Gloria Jones Children's Center for Science and Technology in downtown Youngstown on May 30.
