HUBBARD -- The city, in conjunction with the Eastern Ohio Damage Prevention Council and Ohio811, will conduct a landscaping renovation project today to promote April as "Safe Digging Month."
Officials said the goal is to bring public awareness to safe digging practices and the State of Ohio One-Call law.
Mayor Ben Kyle, Ohio811 representatives, and EODPC council representatives from various contracting firms and utilities will be present. The city will have various equipment from the utility department on site.
The event will start at 9:30 a.m. at the corner of Drummond Avenue and North Main Street at the "Welcome to Hubbard" sign.
Ohio811 sponsors multiple Damage Prevention Councils and Utility Coordinating Committees throughout the State of Ohio that will conduct Safe Digging Projects across the state.
