Affordable pet clinic offered at YSU
YOUNGSTOWN — If your pet is due for a much-needed check-up, Youngstown State University’s pre-veterinary society and Buster’s Brigade are offering a one-day affordable clinic.
The Marjorie Hartman Family Foundation Pet Clinic will set up inside Stambaugh Stadium’s gymnasium from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 23.
While easing the burden of high vet bills is one function of the clinic, it also gives students the opportunity to receive hands-on experience with veterinary procedures alongside a licensed veterinarian.
Services provided will include various types of exams and vaccinations including rabies shots, heartworm tests and microchip placement. The event also will offer a free nail trimming for your pet.
Buster’s Brigade, a local non-profit group that helps provide the basic and emergency needs of dogs and cats in the Mahoning Valley and surrounding area, is also partnering to host the event.
All pets must be on a leash or in a carrier. The event is cash only.
