YSU gets $460K in state funds

The State Controlling Board has approved giving $460,569 to Youngstown State University to support education and skill training of students and workers in emerging and in-demand industries. he funding is through Ohio Department of Education’s Workforce Based Training and Equipment program, which focuses on retaining and expanding existing businesses, attracting new ones and furthering entrepreneurship.

The equipment purchase by YSU will assist businesses and students and be used for manufacturing education, training and upskilling current and future workers, according to state Rep. Lauren McNally, D-Youngstown, who announced the funding
